ECT – Early Career Teacher

Are you an ECT looking to gain experience in a specialist provision?

The School
A small special school for students whose needs cannot be met in mainstream settings. Staff are dedicated to ensuring pupils make progress against their EHCP outcomes. The curriculum is rich and varied, ensuring pupils are challenged appropriately to address any difficulties which affect their development.

The Role
A long-term role with the possibility of becoming permanent. You will teach a class of 10-15 pupils. All pupils will have an EHCP which you will tailor your teaching towards.

Main Responsibilities
-Lesson planning
-Marking
-Evaluate and adapt lessons according to individual needs
-Act on advice from ECT mentors
-Prepare learning resources
-Deploy teaching assistants
-Write progress reports
-Feedback to senior leadership team and parents/carers
-Follow the guidance of external professionals
-Liaise with work external professionals

Essential Criteria
-Recently completed initial teacher training
-Understanding of SEND Code of Practice
-Keen interest in working in SEND settings

Desirable Criteria
-Additional SEND qualification(s)
-Prior experience in a specialist provision
