About the Role
Five Education is currently recruiting for a passionate and experienced SEND Nursery Practitioner to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in early years settings across Bristol and the surrounding areas.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a nurturing environment, has a deep understanding of early childhood development, and is confident supporting children with needs such as Autism, Down syndrome, speech and language delays, and other developmental challenges.
As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a key role in creating an inclusive, stimulating and supportive environment that allows every child to feel safe, valued, and able to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the individual learning and development of children with SEND in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Work 1:1 or in small groups with children who require additional support.
Use a range of strategies to encourage communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction.
Liaise with SENCOs, external professionals, and parents/carers to ensure consistent and effective support.
Monitor progress and contribute to the development and implementation of individual support plans or EHCPs.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working in early years settings with children with additional needs (Autism, Global Delay, Non-Verbal Communication, etc.).
A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years (desirable).
Patience, creativity, and a genuine enthusiasm for supporting young children’s learning and development.
Strong understanding of child safeguarding and SEND best practices.
Right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo enhanced DBS and referencing checks.
