Salary: £140 - £180

We are seeking a resilient, enthusiastic, and adaptable Qualified Teacher to join a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) dedicated to supporting students who have been excluded from mainstream education or are at risk of exclusion. You will play a vital role in re-engaging learners with education and helping them to develop both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and accessible lessons to students with a range of SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs
- Create a nurturing and structured environment that encourages positive behaviour and a growth mindset
- Differentiate teaching strategies to meet individual learning and emotional needs
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, behaviour mentors, and pastoral staff to ensure holistic support
- Monitor progress and contribute to personalised education plans
- Support reintegration into mainstream education where appropriate
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
- Experience working with vulnerable learners, including those with SEMH, challenging behaviour or trauma backgrounds
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management
- Patience, resilience, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on pupils’ lives
- Ability to adapt teaching style to suit a non-traditional setting
