Accounts Assistant

Location – Macclesfield
Salary – £25,000-30,000

About the company:
A global SME, with an office in Macclesfield, and a great small office environment. Reporting into the Financial Controller, this broad and hands-on role will be around 75% finance-facing, 25% admin-facing.

Responsibilities include:
• Purchase ledger management.
• Downloading weekly bank balances and preparing Weekly Cashflow Reports.
• Recording of supplier payments on Sage.
• Reconciling bank and cash accounts.
• Preparing and processing expenses.
• Running and managing the small payroll function.
• Assisting with accruals, prepayments and journals.
• Assisting in the preparation of quarterly financial reports and reconciliations.
• Raising intercompany invoices.
• Maintaining a small fixed asset and depreciation register.
• Answering the office telephone, filtering telephone calls and dealing with general enquiries. NB: low call volumes.
• Monitoring and management of email inboxes.
• Collecting statistics and administration of the statistics spreadsheets.
• Collecting post from the main office building and from a second office building (within walking distance).
• Preparing shareholder reports for the Board packs.
• Ad hoc administrative support to the Executive Chairman, Managing Director and Project Manager as required.
• Managing the office stationery.

Skills/Qualifications required:
• Previous finance experience
• Previous experience in a similar SME environment a bonus
• Previous experience of multi-currency a bonus
• Self-starter, capable of a hands-on role
• Eye for detail
• Good time-management and organisational skills
