Finance Manager

Location – Barrow-in-Furness
Salary – £38-41.5k

About the company:
A well-established organisation with an opportunity for a Finance Manager in a broad role, combining management accounting and managing a team.

Responsibilities include:
• Produce timely monthly management accounts, cash flow reports and reconciliations, financial statistical returns, along with other management reports as required.
• Day to day operational control of the financial / management accounting systems.
• Lead on the preparation of year-end Financial Statements
• Support the annual budget setting process, including any mid-year revisions.
• Leadership and development of the Finance Team
• Undertake staff development as appropriate to ensure the effective and efficient performance of duties
• To carry out performance management for staff and support their continuous professional development
• Budget holder support and liaison over budget performance, financial forecasts and other financial needs as required.
• Management of VAT returns and ad hoc issues.
• Oversee payments to suppliers
• Oversee the collection of all debts as they fall due
• Oversee reconciliations
• Oversee payroll
• Oversee cash collection, management and banking
• To control expenditure against an agreed budget
• To ensure value for money of all resources within function including staff and systems
• To provide timely and accurate reports as required
• Attend and contribute to management meetings

Skills/Qualifications required:
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Part or fully qualified accountant
• Strong IT & systems skills
• Experience in managing people
• Self-starting individual with attention for detail.
• Ability to work on own initiative, overcome difficulties and get jobs done
• Enthusiasm and drive
• Adaptable to change
• Decision maker
