Finance ManagerLocation – Manchester city centre (hybrid working)
Salary – £based on experience
About the company:
A well-established professional services business, with an opportunity for a qualified accountant to join the business in a broad, combination management accounting and people management role, reporting to and directly supporting the Financial Controller.
This is a business I’ve worked with a number of times over the years – with fantastic feedback, and a great reputation as an employer.
Responsibilities include:
• Day to day management and supervision of the assistant accountant team.
• Supporting the Financial Controller in running the day-to-day operations and processes of the department.
• Coordinating month end processes.
• Preparation of accurate and timely management accounts and financial reporting & supervision of the preparation of financial reporting for smaller group entities
• Driving process improvements and developing controls for a recently embedded finance system alongside the Financial Controller
• Undertake any further work, tasks or projects as reasonably requested by the Financial Controller or Finance Director.
Skills/Qualifications required:
• Recognised accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Previous experience in or exposure to people management a bonus
• Strong written and spoken communication skills
• Proactive & capable of solving problems
• Strong attention to detail
• Good IT & Excel skills
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Able to work on own initiative & under pressure
