Credit Controller

Location – Sale, Manchester
Salary – up to £28,000

About the company:
A global business based in South Manchester, working as part of a well-established credit control team in a broad position, proactively managing a number of customer accounts to ensure timely payment of invoices, as well as resolving any billing issues.

Responsibilities include:
• Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely payment of invoices
• Contact customers regarding outstanding payments and resolve any billing discrepancies
• Maintain accurate records of all communication and actions taken regarding credit control
• Collaborate with the sales/operational team to address any credit-related issues or concerns
• Conduct credit checks on new customers and make recommendations on credit limits
• Prepare and distribute monthly statements to customers
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to credit control
• Conduct thorough credit checks on potential new customers to determine their eligibility for credit facilities.
• Properly allocate incoming payments to their respective invoices, ensuring accurate account reconciliation.

Skills/Qualifications required:
• Previous experience in credit control or a similar role
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures
• Proficiency in using accounting software such as Sage
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong attention to detail and ability to analyse data accurately
• Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively
