Accountant (Part-time)

Salary - based on experience
Location – Runcorn

About the company:

A well-established and successful wholesale business based in Runcorn, within an opportunity for an experience financial professional to join on a part-time basis, circa 25 hours or 3 days a week.

Responsibilities include:

Regular review, management and reporting in relation to cashflow
Production of reports and statistics from Exact software
Weekly reporting to Group management on KPI information and key stats
Maintaining all ledgers in the accounting system
Processing of customer receipts and credit control where required
Processing of supplier payments including liaison with Managing Director regarding payments due
Managing the purchase of forward currency contracts (linked with supplier ledger and cashflow)
Assisting with clearing of invoice queries and disputes
Processing of bank transactions and bank reconciliation
Assistance in the processing of payroll and HMRC duties in relation to PAYE and VAT
Collation of monthly credit card expenditure ensuring agreement to supporting documentation and reconciliation to statements

Skills/Qualifications required:

Use of Exact Online accounting system would be an advantage however not essential as full training will be provided (experience of a similar system such as Sage, SAP, Xero or Quickbooks is desirable)
Previous experience in managing cashflow and reporting to senior management would be desirable
Analytical and numerical skills
Knowledge of foreign currency
Knowledge of VAT and PAYE
Accuracy and attention to detail
